Tom Buckner, received his B.S. in Education and Graduate Degrees from Central Washington State University. He was a secondary educator for 37 years. His areas of teaching were physical education, weight lifting, self image philosophy, and activities director. His coaching experiences include track & field, cross country, volleyball, football, and USSA Ski Racing.

He has stayed active in coaching for 42 years. He is a member of the Washington State High School Track & Field Coaches Hall of Fame and a recipient of Washington and Oregon Coach of the Year Awards.

He has been cycling for over 30 years. Through out that time he has gained knowledge in the areas of recreational, fitness, and racing cycling. Through all his time spent in the world of cycling he developed skills as bike fit specialist. He enjoys working with and helping others.
Most of all he understands the importance of the bicycle fitting the rider properly. A good fit aids in a more comfortable ride.

He is a member of the Derby Bicycle Center Staff. His programs include being the instructor for the CompuTrainer program, bicycle fitting and the newly formed Derby Bicycle Center Race Team coach.
